Retiring from your job doesn’t mean you can’t stay involved with your union. AFSCME retirees have an active program in Wisconsin. “It’s a great way to stay in touch. There’s a lot of good camaraderie,” says Jerry LaPoint, president of Chapter 7 Retirees. “Being a member is a good way to stay involved and to keep an eye on issues that are important to us, like health care and pensions,” LaPoint said.
