5/10: AFSCME Council 13 has just been officially notified by the Governor's Office and the Dept. of Corrections that the Correctional Medical Services WILL NOT be privatized. This issue is now moot and all services will continue to be performed by AFSCME Council 13 members. Council 13 is well aware that viral misinformation is out there which should accordingly be ignored by our membership.

Fighting for Our Future! Council 13 40th Annual Convention Held
5/2: On April 27-29 467 delegates representing 239 locals took part in AFSCME Council 13's 40th Annual Convention in Hershey, PA. The theme was "Fighting for Our Future" with a focus on continuing the fight against attacks on collective bargaining and workers' rights. 13 Resolutions were approved. Speakers included C13 Exec. Dir. David R. Fillman; PA U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey, Jr.; former congressman Patrick Murphy; USO Representative Lisa Carter; AFSCME Sec./Treas.
