Parking Letter To All Barganing Units

Cal U bargaining unit member;

As you know, the campus bargaining unit representatives have been working diligently on your behalf in this ongoing fight for continued free on-campus parking. Our university administration is insistent on the belief that parking-related expenses are considered to be auxiliary expenses and must be paid by those who use these services, including bargaining unit employees. We do not agree.

Your campus bargaining unit presidents are working together as a team to fight the imposed parking fee.
It is our belief that we are united in this fight for all campus faculty and staff – regardless of union affiliation. We are one unified campus family and we are working together for all employees who are members of a bargaining unit.

Continued meetings with PASSHE's labor relations representatives are at an impasse. We anticipate taking this fight to the courts. Again, APSCUF, AFSCME, SCUPA and SPFPA are working together as one team in preparing for this fight. We are one unified campus family working towards a common goal for the good of our memberships.

Thank you for your continued support.

In solidarity,

Jen Sigado – SCUPA
Michael Slavin – APSCUF
Josh Mrosko - SPFPA
George Josay - AFSCME

Parking concerns continue to be an issue.  Important information was discussed throughout the entire meeting.  After the power point presentation there was a sucessful question and answer session amongst union members.
