Councilmen Gentile and Van Bramer to Speak at April Meeting

Two of the staunchest library supporters on the City Council will be our special guests at the April General Membership meeting on April 5. Come out and meet Vincent Gentile (Brooklyn) and James VanBramer (Queens), and bring your questions about the the City's budget situation and how it may impact the libraries.

This will be a valuable opportunity for our members to find out about upcoming budget negotiations from a couple of Council insiders. We very much encourage you to attend, and we hope you will spread the word among Local 1482 members in your work locations.

To help get the word out, we are attaching two PDF flyers (black and white and color) that you may print out and post on the union bulletin boards in your work locations. Please note, that you should not use library printers to print out union materials.

Go to the Calendar section of local1482.org to find information about the time and location of the meeting. See you on April 5!

On March 24, Local 1482 President Eileen Muller testified in front of the City Council Committee that oversees library issues about the Mayor's proposed 8% cut to libraries in his Fiscal Year 2012 Preliminary Budget. Click here to view President Muller's complete testimony.
