Local 1549's Lee Clarke Receives Honors for Role in Passage of Zadroga Act

Lee Clarke, Special Assistant to the President of Local 1549, recently received two great honors for her heroic efforts in extending the Zadroga Act for 75 years.

Lee received a U.S. Flag which flew over the U.S. Capitol in honor of her efforts in extending the James Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act for 75 years.  The flag was accompanied by a letter from U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York.  Sen. Gillibrand thanked Lee for her hard work and determination.  The flag was also accompanied by a certificate from the Architect of the Capitol verifying that the flag flew over the Capitol, in Lee's honor, on Dec. 18, 2015.  (Follow link below for photos)

In a separate honor, Lee and Guille Mejia, DC37's Director of Safety & Health, were given the honor of participating in the "James Zadroga 9/11 Health & Compensation Act Closing Bell Ceremony" on February 22, 2016, at the New York Stock Exchange.  Lee and Guille were joined by other labor leaders, civic leaders, and elected officials.
