On Monday, May 4, 2015, Pres. Eddie Rodriguez joined other local leaders and key staff in welcoming a class of 68 newly hired NYPD Police Administrative Aides, at the NYPD Police Academy.
Joining Pres. Rodriguez in addressing the class were Exec. V.P. Alma Roper, 3rd V.P. Alvin Williams, Secy. Treas. Gerald Johnson and Recording Secy. Carmen Flores.
Pres. Rodriguez explained that their hiring will allow police officers, currently performing clerical duties, to be redeployed to patrol and enforcement duties.
Special Assistant Brett Koch and Strategic Planning Coord. Oscar Alvarado also welcomed the class.
DC37 Clerical Division staff explained the dos-and-dont's of being civil servants and working for the NYPD. Kenneth Mulligan, Assistant Director of the DC37 Clerical Division was joined by Grievance Reps. Rhonda Spaulding and Ernst Letemps.
Mariama DaCostra, of the DC37 Field Services Unit, provided an overview of the members' pension plan and benefits package.
A representative of the NYC Municipal Credit Union presented available services and products, and was availabe to sign up new members. Lunch was provided by the Municipal Credit Union and was greatly appreciated by all in attendance.
