Senior Police Administrative Aide Latreva Mumford, a Local 1549 member working in Police Headquarters, observed a uniformed member of the Department collapse while both working in One Police Plaza.
The officer appeared to be in cardiac arrest. Ms. Mumford immediately jumped into action and commenced CPR, thereby rescusitating the officer and very likely saving his life.
Local 1549 President Eddie Rodriguez and Executive Vice President Alma Roper join the executive board, officers, executive board and staff in lauding Ms. Mumford and offering congratulations for her heroic deed.
Ms. Mumford was subsequently honored by the Department and presented with a Police Department medallion (see photo gallery below).
