 A dues increase of .80 per month (.40 cents per paycheck), mandated by our International Union AFSCME, will go into effect on January 1, 2016.  This increase is mandated by Article IX, Section 6 of the AFSCME Constitution, and was not initiated by Local 1549. Read more >>>

Eddie Rodriguez has been reelected as President of Local 1549 with a decisive 80% of the vote.  The ballot count took place on November 18, 2015 at the offices of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).   Read more >>>

Election Results Report - Mon. Nov. 30, 2015

All L.1549 members are urged to attend a General Membership meeting on November 30, 2015 at 6 p.m. at DC37 HQ, 125 Barclay St., NY, NY 10007, in rooms 3 and 4.

The American Arbitration Assn. and the L.1549 Election Committee will report on the results of the recently concluded election for L. 1549 officers, DC37 delegates and Central Labor Council delegates.

Local 1549 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

 On 9 a.m., on Sunday, October 18, 2015, Local 1549 will be Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in four (4) boroughs.  The meeting sites are as follows:  (1) Brooklyn - Prospect Park, in front of the Public Library on Flatbush Ave. & Eastern Pkwy. (2) Manhattan - Central Park, E. 72 St. & 5th Ave. (4) Bronx - City Island at Orchard Beach (entry stairs) and (5) Staten Island - Midland Park.  Please wear a previous year's Local 1549 Making Strides shirt or any other Local 1549 or union shirt.  Thank you.

 On Saturday, September 12, 2015, a large Local 1549 contingent joined thousands of union, political, civic leaders as well as thousands of workers in a display of solidarity and strength at the 2015 Labor Day Parade. Read more >>>

SEPTEMBER 2015 PAY DATES & RAISE CALCULATOR

DC 37 members covered by the 2010-2017 Economic Agreement are due a wage increase of 2.5 percent on base wages and recurring increments effective September 3, 2015. The following increase of 3 percent is due Sept. 3, 2016.

On Monday, May 4, 2015, Pres. Eddie Rodriguez joined other local leaders and key staff, in welcoming a class of 68 newly hired NYPD Police Administrative Aides, at the NYPD Police Academy.
