The Alaska State Troopers – members of the Public Safety Employees of Alaska (PSEA)/AFSCME Local 803 – are featured in a cable TV series on the National Geographic Channel. Health care reform advocates are wasting no time saying thank you to Members of Congress who voted to pass comprehensive health care legislation – the Affordable Health Care for America Act (H.R. 3962) – through the House of Representatives late Saturday night. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) introduced the Access to Nutritious Meals for Young Children Act of 2009 to update the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) by adding additional resources to pay for healthier meals and expanding the program to include more children. CACFP provides healthy, nutritious meals to 3 million children each day who are in Head Start, Early Head Start, and child care programs in both centers and family child care homes.
