State Fair Defend Minnesota Campaign

More than 70 AFSCME volunteers staffed the Council 5 booth at the Minnesota State Fair. They handed our more than 3,000 Rosie the Riveter "Defend Minnesota" buttons to visitors who filled out cards helping us track the personal impact of state and local budget cuts.

Making a Splash for Veterans

Despite an all-day rain and temperatures that barely reached 50 degrees, nearly 100 bikers and riders sloshed through the elements on the 65th anniversary of D-Day to raise money for the Disabled Veterans Rest Camp on Big Marine Lake. Members of AFSCME Local 2728 at Lino Lakes Correctional Facility organized the “Support Our Heroes” motorcycle run June 6.
