Local 829, the San Mateo County Workers Union,  was chartered on May 1, 1946.  Serving 17 chapters it provides a full range of representation services, including negotiations, grievance and contract enforcement, and many more.  Member and officer training are also provided.

Fired Up To Protect The Residents Of Burlingame Long Term Care
 
Over 100 folks filled the Board of Supervisors chambers and the seated overflow seats last Tuesday, over 60 of them AFSCME members. Our message was clear: There is a need to house and protect the residents of Burlingame Long Term Care!!!
