Local 829, the San Mateo County Workers Union, was chartered on May 1, 1946. Serving 17 chapters, we provide a full range of representation services, including negotiations, grievance and contract enforcement, and many more. Member and officer training are also provided.
Maintaining membership in AFSCME Local 829 ensures that your voice is heard when communicating with Employers through collective bargaining and policy changes that may affect your wages, your rights, and your safety (just a few examples). You will have the right to vote on contract ratifications or rejections, who represents you at the bargaining table, and other contract enforcement matters.
