Who We Are - Our History
The Humboldt County Public Employees Association was organized August 10, 1945 with one hundred employees. Chartered by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) on June 15, 1966, this affiliation brought the Association into the mainstream of America’s Labor Movement. AFSCME Local 1684 is also affiliated with the AFL-CIO and AFSCME District Council 57. Today we are over 600 strong, representing public employees in Humboldt, and Del Norte Counties. more
